Anhörig och god man är en kvalitativ studie i social omsorg. Studien handlar om anhöriga som har uppdraget som god man till en nära släkting. Studiens huvudsyfte är att ge sociala omsorgsarbetare en större förståelse för anhöriga gode män som är vanligt förekommande i många omsorgsgivares vardagsarbete. I studien beskrivs gode mäns funktion och relevanta begrepp för att ge läsaren en förförståelse om intervjupersonernas position som god man. En god man kan hjälpa en människa som av någon anledning har svårt att själva bevaka sin rätt, förvalta sin egendom eller sörja för sin person. De hjälpbehövande människorna kallas i studien för huvudmän efter den juridiska termen. Studien innehåller intervjumaterial från sex stycken intervjuer med gode män. Tre av de intervjuade är anhöriga gode män och tre av dem är inte släkt med huvudmannen. Studiens resultat visar att intervjupersonerna upplever att de kan påverka hjälpen till huvudmannen samt att positionen som god man och positionen som anhörig upplevs flyta ihop. Något som också resultatet pekar på är att förtroendet de anhöriga gode männen känner för omsorgspersonal vid huvudmannens boende, kräver mer underhåll än vad de fristående gode männen förmedlar. I diskussionen försöker författaren beskriva rollförväntningarna på positionerna som anhörig och god man med hjälp av rollteori. Studien avslutas med ”fallgropar” och förslag till vidare forskning. 

This is a qualitative study in social care. The subject is family members who have been assigned as trustees to close relatives. The main purpose in to increase the social care workers understanding of "relative trustees" to make it easier for them to work together and help the principal. This study will describe the trustees function and relevant concepts to give the reader an understanding of the interviewees' position as trustee. A trustee can help a person who has difficulty to defend their rights themselves, manage their property or to arrange for their own person. The people in need are called principals in the study after the legal term. The study includes interviews from six interviews with trustees. Three of the interviewees are “relative trustees” and three of them are not related to their principal. The study results show that the respondents feel that they can influence aid and help to the principal and that the position as trustee and position as a relative perceived to flow together. The results indicate that confidence “relatives trustee” feel for the professional helpers require more maintenance than the independent trustee conveys. In the discussion the author tries to describe the role of expectations in positions of relative and the positions of trustee with the role theory. The study concludes with the study's “pitfalls” and suggestions for further research.
