We learn together! : How do educators work with group piano lessons at the cultural school? (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

Group piano lessons are both an established and emerging field in the cultural school's activities. The following study has through surveys received answers from the educators in the organization on which framework factors control the work, what skills are worked on with students, and to see how the group is used. This is a quantitative study with a positivist approach. The study was sent out to cultural schools in Sweden and was answered by cultural school educators who teach students in groups. Paul. Harris' teaching methodology, Simultaneous Learning, has since characterized the results. The results show that the respondents' conditions differed greatly, but that they used many tools in the teaching, but mainly focused on a few interventions, such as music reading. The study also indicates that the respondents do not make full use of the opportunities offered by the group lecture. The discussion compares the results with previous research, where the conclusion is that the educators have even more potential to meet the group's conditions and to not apply the methods of private education in this context.
