Denna uppsats undersökte hur skolans organisering påverkar skolkuratorers möjlighet till förebyggande arbete med ätstörningsproblematik hos elever. Aspekter som valts ut för att mäta detta är kompetens, samverkan och skolans utformning i form av elevantal, kommunstorlek samt vem som är huvudman. Studien genomfördes genom en webbenkät till vilken vi bjöd in skolkuratorer som hade hand om elever främst i årskurs 7–9. Enkäten innehöll flertalet olika frågor, de frågor som lett till vårt resultat bestod främst av skalfrågor. Våra teoretiska utgångspunkter var handlingsutrymme samt samverkansteori och dessa användes för att tolka empirin. Den insamlade empirin analyserades genom sambandsanalyser och resultatet var inte det vi förväntat oss. Vår utgångspunkt om att kompetens, samverkan och skolans utformning var avgörande för huruvida skolkuratorerna kunde arbeta förebyggande motbevisades delvis. Istället fick vi fram att endast få av våra aspekter har ett samband med huruvida skolkuratorerna kan arbeta förebyggande mot ätstörningar. 

This thesis investigated how the school's organization affects school counselor's ability to engage in preventive work on eating disorder issues among students. The aspects selected to measure this include competence, collaboration, and the school's formation in terms of the number of students, the size of the city, and who owned the school. The study was conducted through an online survey to which we invited school counselors responsible for students primarily in grades 7–9. The survey included various questions, with the questions leading to our results mainly consisting of different scales. Our theoretical frameworks were discretion and collaboration theory, which were used to interpret the empirical data. The collected empirical data were analyzed through correlation analyses, and the results were not what we expected. Our assumption that competence, collaboration, and the school's formation were crucial for whether school counselors could work preventively was partially disproven. Instead, we found that only a few of our aspects were correlated with whether school counselors could work preventively against eating disorders.
