Abstract [en]

The aim of this study was to examine how cultural activities are motivated in two published documents by Stockholms Kulturförvaltning and Danderyds Sjukhus, and further to analyse how cultural activities can play a role within pain rehabilitation. Stockholms Kulturförvaltning and Danderyds Sjukhus´ definition and usage of the term culture was also analysed. A qualitative content analysis is used to find words and phrases in the two documents related to culture and health promotion and ahermeneutical approach is used to interpret the documents in their entirety. Results of the analysis shows that cultural activities do play a role in people with chronical pain´s feelings of well-being and perception of social inclusiveness.
