Abstract [en]

In this study I have studied the ideological tendency when two school textbooks described social economy and it turned out that there was no clear ideological tendency in the two studied textbooks when they described social economics. Instead, it turned out that these two school textbooks described social economics based on mixed economics approach which several ideologies like liberalism, Marxism, environmentalism, third way, reformistic socialism all advocate. In one of the boosk there was a clear negative description of planned economy and that was the book Reflex 123 Samhällskunskap För Gymnasieskolan while in the other studied book Libers Samhällskunskap 1b there was more nuance description of planned economy, mixed economy, and market economy where the description in that book gave pros and cons with all these different economy-types. The method I choosed for this study is a qualitative method where I have don something called text analysis which means I read and interpreted two social studies books and how they described social economy and when I have read the texts, I gave my interpretation if there were any ideological tendencies when they described social economy. I also choose to describe liberalism, environmentalism, third way, reformistic socialism, Marxism, conservatism, and neoliberalism theoretical view on social economics and based upon my knowledge of these ideologies I read how the two chosen textbooks described social economics and did my own interpretation of the textbooks ideological tendencies when they described social economics. Future research could be done with different methods and also with same method but with other textbooks.
