The basis in this essay is the free narrative by speech and illustrations with pupils in the early years of elementary school. From interviews with four teachers and literature research about how several psychologists use the free narrative in their therapeutic work, I have searched for information about which working methods you as a teacher can apply to encourage pupils free narrative. From my researches I also have studied what significance the free narrative has for the pupils. The result of my research showed the importance of free narrative in school. It develops the pupils positive, as an example the pupils self-esteem enhances. The working methods for encouraging this development among the pupils are numerous and very easy to apply. An important aspect to remember as a teacher is to express your self by speech and illustrations, because it stimulates the pupils to express themselves by free narrative. Something I belive is good is when the pupils can give vent for their feelings and have an opportunity to make their voice heard and express themselves by illustrations and feel that it is only their own minds that are in control. I also belive that their interest strengthens when they are able to relate to something that belongs to their reality. This makes it possible to use the free narrative in all school subjects.
