Medias roll i skolan

Abstract [en]

In Swedish school, a project has been conducted with children in the first and second class. At a time when all our documents request every educationalist to offer the children different ways to find knowledge, I have designed and carried out an education project where the children learn with all their five senses. All children are individuals and absorb knowledge in many different ways. The project has double purposes, and the first has been to give the children knowledge of the four most common animals at a Swedish farm in a joyful way. My second purpose has been to find out how children are experiencing biology teaching where all their five senses are working. During the five weeks, the children have experienced pigs, cows, hens and sheep. Every animal have had their own week where we have seen, listened, sniffed, tasted and felt materials relevant to the special animal. When I interviewed the children after the project, they all experienced the work as fun and different. Most of the children considered that the taste was the sense that was most important for their learning process, followed by touch.
