Samarbetet mellan skola och hem sett ur ett föräldraperspektiv - med fokus på det enskilda barnet
2005 (svensk)Independent thesis Basic level (professional degree)Oppgave
Abstract [en]

Background and purpose There are several studies performed about co-operation between home and school with focus on the parents influence and their participation in decisions and similar activities. The SIA-investigation of 1974 proposed the creation of “local decision-boards” with the participation of the parents and pupils. The proposition was never activated but nevertheless became the kick-off for a development in the proposed direction. This development is important but according to my opinion it is the engagement in the individual child and its development which are the most important factors. It is of course positive if the parents engage themselves further in schoolactivities, should the parents have any energy left. My studies deal with the interaction between home and schoolwork of the specific child. The study is performed from the perspective of the parents. It is parents with pupils in grade one and grade five who are the objective of the study. The purpose has been to gain knowledge of how most of the parents want the contact with school to be dealt with when it comes to their own child. Methodology I have chosen to do an enquiry as a quantitative investigation, this was done to understand a great number of parents´ views. I selected 78 parents in school where I am employed. The result of the investigation is based on the 68 answers received. Result My study shows that the parents regard their engagement as being important and they have many aspects of what constitutes this engagement. My study also shows that most of them are satisfied with the contacts they have with school but I can see a tendency that the parents in the lower grades are more satisfield. It can also be seen that parents to pupils in higher grades tend to require more pupils´improvement discussions compared to the parents in the lower grades.
