    Abstract [sv]

    Att förklara samhället är en bok i metodologi. Med den kritiska realismen som grund presenterar författarna metodologiska riktlinjer för en samhällsvetenskap med höga anspråk på att kunna förklara samhälleliga förhållanden.

    Bokens nio kapitel behandlar samhällsvetenskapens ontologiska och epistemologiska grunder, begreppsbildning och strukturell analys, kausalitet och förklaring, samhällsvetenskapen som tolkande vetenskap, förhållandet mellan struktur och aktör, olika former av slutledningar och tankeoperationer, relationen mellan det generella och det individuella, teoriers betydelse i forskningspraktiken, olika sätt att koppla teori och empiri, kombinationer av metoder (det som i boken kallas kritisk metodpluralism) samt grunderna för en samhällsrelevant samhällsvetenskap.

    Kritiken mot de positivistiska vetenskapsidealen, empirismen och tron på den objektiva, bevisade kunskapen har delvis slagit över i sin motsats, en överdriven försiktighet, en långtgående relativism, en betoning på vad vetenskapen inte kan göra i stället för vad den kan göra. Denna bok visar att det finns ett fruktbart alternativ till dessa positioner, ett alternativ som ger mer realistiska och samtidigt konstruktiva grunder för samhällsvetenskaplig forskning.

    Abstract [en]

    This is an analysis of the music in the television-series The Tudors (2007 – 2010). The opening credits and how death is portrayed musically in the last episode are analyzed. My question is what functions the music has. The method used is Michel Chion’s masking-method. You listen to the music, noise and speech and how diegetic and non-diegetic On/Off-screen sound is used. The opening credits of the first season evokes the spirit of the time of King Henry VIII and shows that the series will address topics like religion, power, money, love and war. The melody, the use of modern drums and classical instruments makes the music capturing. Non-diegetic music and speech dominates the soundtrack during the first season. From the second season and on the speech is excluded. The music is important enough in itself. In the episode about death diegetic noise and speech are more important. The non-diegetic music gives feelings of nostalgia, anger and regrets over mistakes in the past. The music evokes a sad feeling because of its slow and somber tempo. I conclude that the functions of the music are to evoke and strengthen feelings of the spectator.

    Osakliga löneskillnader mellan kvinnor och män: En studie vid Karlstads universitet2005Report (Refereed)

    Syftet är att studera orsakerna till de osakliga löneskillnader som registrerats vid lönerevisionerna vid Karlstads universitet år 2000 till 2002. Syfter mynnar ut i den övergripande frågeställningen: Vilka processer medverkar till att skapa och återskap de osakliga löneskillnaderna mellan kvinnor och män? Denna frågeställning är i sin tur nedbruten i tre delar:

    1. Hur ser könsfördelning och lönesättning ut vid Karlstads universitet i allmänhet ut och mer specifikt för adjunkter och lektorer?

    2. Skiljer sig arbetuppgifter och arbetets krav mellan adjunkter och lektorer och i så fall på vilket sätt?

    3. Vilken kunskap har dessa yrkesgrupper om jämställdhetslag och lönebildning och har man kunnat använda denna kunskap i de egna löneförhandlingarna? Finns det könsvisa skillnader?



    Frågeställningarna behandlas i var sin delstude sompresenteras sammantaget i rapporten. Del ett svarar mot den första frågeställningen och beskriver hur kvinnor och män fördelas inom universitetet med avseende på t.ex. yrke och avdelning samt hur löneskillnaderna ser ut och kan förklaras. I den andra delen tillämpas en metod för arbetsvärdering av lektorers och adjunkters arbetsuppgifter i relation till lön. I den tredje delen presenteras hur anställda vid Karlstads universitet ser på jämställdhetslagen och hur den kan tillämpas i den egna situationen

    Feminist theology, in its various forms, expresses major characteristics of a contemporary Christian understanding of God. It is not primarily an alternative or marginal phenomenon. In this article, I analyze the theme of the love of God in dialogue with Carter Heyward and Anders Nygren. Heywards theology can be characterized as contemporary and liberal, while Nygrens belongs to our heritage and is traditional. Taking my own point of departure in reflection on a feminist understanding of motherhood, I critically analyze both my liberal and my traditional conversation partner. The analysis is deepened and clarified through interpretations of the parable of the prodigal son. My theology is made in the simultaneous problematizing of theological concepts and biblical interpretations, related to my context as a woman in a Nordic country, wrestling with a Jewish-Christian heritage in European form and at the intersection of traditional and contemporary theology
