    Abstract [en]

The purpose of this paper is to investigate how tourist agencies in rural areas work with their information channels for the place marketing of their destinations and brand management. By means of information channels we mean the tourist agencies' social media, their own website and printed materials. The questions asked in this paper are: How do the tourist agencies work with the destination's brand through the website and in social media such as Instagram and Facebook, and How do tourist agencies work with the image of the destination from visitors and the local in their social channels. The essay is based on a social constructivist point of view, since it is about the work of the tourist agencies about shaping the destination's brand and the place marketing that serves to create an idea of the place and its values.

The conclusion of this study is that through social constructivism we were able to conclude that there are several decisive factors that affect the work of the tourist agencies with the location marketing and the brand than visitors and residents. The information collected gave more information than what was requested.

    Abstract [en]

The purpose of my study is to investigate how girls/women and boys/men are being portrayed in the children's literature presented to children by reading out loud in preschool. This is to contribute with knowledge about gender in children's literature, which helps me as a teacher to develop a critical approach to the books I choose to introduce to the children. By analyzing three different picture books, I have sought answers to how male and female characters are being portrayed, how one can see gender stereotyped markers and if the literature confirms or exceeds and challenges gender stereotypes.

The process is based on a qualitative research approach. I have also used analytical methods, which have helped me to stay within the framework of what I wanted to investigate. Two different theories, Hirdmans theory of the gender system (2001; 2007) and Connell's theory of masculinity (2008) has given me the opportunity to understand my results. My study showed two different ways to portray characters, either by reversed characteristics or by a great variety of characteristics, regardless of gender. Furthermore, it showed a large cross and challenging of gender stereotypes and with that the standard of how women/girls and men/boys should be.

    Abstract [en]

The study was intended to examine and elucidate detainees' experiences of isolation that detained. The aim was also to elucidate arrested insulation outside prison personnel perspective. This is to get a deeper understanding of the insulation as a social phenomenon. As I was interested in interviewees' experiences in the form of a detailed narrative a qualitative method was chosen in the form of interviews with the narrative character. In the processing of empiricism was coding chosen in combination with the hermeneutic tradition. I was working in several installments with empirical data where coding and analysis was inspired by hermeneutics. This was done to shorten the text and to find interesting and important words and sentences that hermeneutics then helps to explain.Theoretical concepts regards shame/power and also a criminal lifestyleamong other thing.  Results are based on themes related to the arrested existence as locked up and thus isolated and the meaning of prisonguards treatment towards arrested. The study indicates that respondents perceive detention time hardest at the beginning of the stay. The detainees appear to seemingly get into routines and find strategies to adapt to the situation as locked up. Emotions are perceived to be more strongly associated with the lock-in and the detainees can not quite put their finger on why it is this way. Custody staff are trying to interact with detainees through simple phrases in the hallway, supportive conversations with affected individuals and distraction to even try to find the quiet. Even if the arrestee is not responsive and not want to have contact with staff, conducts detention staff still an effort that suits the individual.

“Inget slår oss när vi arbetar tillsammans”: En kvalitativ studie om socialsekreterares upplevelse av möjligheter och svårigheter i arbetet med våld i nära relationer.2019Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [sv]

    Abstract [en]

The purpose of this thesis is to examine whether or not the Swedish aid has had an ideologicalinclination for the past 12 years and, if that is the case, examine what ideology/ideologies hasexcersised greatest influence over the aid as well as how the influence has manifested itself. Thisthesis will be using a qualitive method for this investigation, more specifically an Ideal typeanalysis. The priorities, use of language and overall goals concerning the aid from various budgetproposals and policy frameworks are the main subjects for analysis which will then be used tocompare them to the ”pure” thoughts from three major ideological thoughts: Social democracy, social liberalism and social conservatism. The results of the thesis shows that the Swedish aid has most certaintly been affected by theideological views of the reigning government. It likewise shows that social democracy, as well associal liberalism, served as the major ideological foundations during this time. However, the overallobjectives have not been subject to change during this time but have rather remained adamant in theface of ideological changes. Keywords: aid, ideal type analysis, ideology, social conservatism, social democracy, socialliberalism.

Göra kön på bloggen: En studie om framställningar och skapandet av ”kvinnan” på mode- och livsstilsbloggar2014Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

The purpose of this study was to investigate how the “woman” is depicted and created on fashion and lifestyle blogs. I have done this from a “doing gender” perspective. I have also used Goffman’s theories of identity values and stigma.

I been working with an eclectic approach to the choice of method and I have therefore been using different methods in which content coding on text and symbolic interpretation of images has been the most prominent. These codes were created based on my theoretical framework.

The result of my analysis is that gender is done on fashion and lifestyle blogs relative to the two categories, sex categorization as well as gender. This doing appears in different forms in which the body´s appearance, its decoration and individuals´ behavior and opinions are of central importance. Identity values and stigma are two phenomena that are manifest on this kind of blogs. These two phenomena occur in relation to both sex categorization and gender.

Buddhismens olika ansikten: Gymnasieelevers föreställningar om buddhism2017Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

In Sweden and in the West, interest in Buddhism has increased and many have a more positive view of Buddhism than other religions. Other studies have been able to discern this positive view of Buddhism, but I have not yet found a study that has examined how students view Buddhism. At secondary school, Religionskunskap 1 is a compulsory course that all-school students read regardless of program, and thus all studentshave been taught about Buddhism. In this thesis, I try to find out how secondary school students who recently took the course view Buddhism and how well the orientalist mindset and postcolonial perspective appear in the students ́ statements.Students from three upper secondary schools participated in the survey and at each interview 5 -6 students were interviewed. The result showed that the students had a very positiveimageof Buddhism. The view of religion, prayer and ruleswas not as good and therefore the students had difficulty defining Buddhism as a religion. Two imagesappeared clearly and the first was that Buddhism is a kind of philosophy of life and the other that it is a religion but without a god and that it is a good religion. The students meant thatBuddhismcan be definiteas areligion because there is a founder, Buddha, belief in some supernatural powers like "samsara" and "nirvana", but somestudents object by saying that a religion must have some kind of God, and they understand that Buddhism doesn’t have a God. In the conversation about Buddhism, it is clear that the students are talking about a form of Buddhism. The leek's rites are notmentioned. The only ritual associated with Buddhism is meditation seen as a tool for reaching the "truth" or nirvana. There are monks, the Dalai Lama and the Buddha who can represent the Buddhists, the laymen, on the other hand, get little place in student conversations. The conclusion that can be drawn from the results is that the students' view of Buddhism is largely in line with the image found in previous research. The result that was extra interesting was that the students questioned Buddhism as a religion, something that seems to be public perceptions both within the academy and the public.

    Abstract [en]

This essay aims to examine the scapegoat motif in Birgitta Trotzig's novel En berättelse från kusten (1961). The important part is to study how the scapegoat motif is portrayed in the novel, how the plot leads to persecution and final sacrifice and how it is related to the novel as a whole. I discuss the term scapegoat through the French theoretician René Girard, who developed some criteria to be met in order to the scapegoat motif to work. The essay results show that the three stages in Girard's theories exist in the novel. At first a great disease that causes children of almost every family to die and it makes the society to slowly collapse. The frustration leads to a search for a cause to the disease, however not the real cause, rather a crime and someone to blame. Someone, is not just anyone, the person has some distinctive victims markers. The scapegoat, Merete, is both socially and physically aberrant and that makes her the perfect scapegoat. The result shows that her death is a ritual reconciliation that ends the chaos and makes people free of the guilt they felt. This motif is also a part of a bigger reconciliation theme. Everything seems to weave into a pattern that requires suffering and great sacrifice to achieve reconciliation. Both the city and the monastery's restoration required suffering where Merete and Apelone both suffered and died to save the whole nation from perish.

En underhållande resa genom litteraturhistorien: En kvalitativ studie av tre gymnasieläromedel i litteratur2017Independent thesis Advanced level (professional degree), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

This essay discusses how three textbooks in literature are dealing with the core content of the syllabi for Svenska 1 and Svenska 2 as well as how the textbooks relate to principles about good learning material formulated by textbook researcher Tom Wikman. I have formulated two main areas of research based on his principles. The essay looks at how the textbook enable to activate students and secondly how the textbooks relates to students different prior knowledge. I have chosen secondary school textbooks that are issued after 2011 as they will be able to relate to the new curriculum GY11. The textbooks Hej litteraturen! (2013), Svenska impulser 2 (2012) and Svenska timmar litteraturen (2012) has been analyzed. In my analysis many similarities and differences between the textbooks has been made visible. The textbooks focus on the reader and the entertainment factor. The personal, and often direct, speech to the reader permeates the three textbooks. All textbooks is about the entertaining aspect of the paratext, Svenska impulser 2 are visual with pictures and illustrations, Svenska timmar litteraturen have an author's voice and Hej litteraturen! have a storytelling presentation. Svenska timmar litteraturen and Svenska impulser 2 have advanced sections and tasks of different levels of difficulty, making it available to students with different previous knowledge. This level difference is not, however, in Hej litteraturen! Students' knowledge is still taken into account by all textbooks by relating historical facts to everyday facts that students probably are aware of. All textbooks provide a chronological presentation of the history of literature and mainly contain the core content (centralt innehåll) of Swedish courses. However, there is no section on contemporary writings and authors in Svenska timmar litteratur and Hej litteraturen! Danish and Norwegian literature in the original language is also absent; however Svenska impulser 2 and Svenska timmar litteraturen have extra content in the form of anthologies that contain texts of that kind. In essence, it is the Western culture that is the focus, with some exeptions.

    Abstract [sv]

    Abstract [sv]

    Abstract [sv]

    Abstract [sv]

    Abstract [sv]

Konsten att skapa den lilla innovativa världen: Hur företag driver fram hållbara innovationer2018Independent thesis Advanced level (degree of Master (One Year)), 20 credits / 30 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

Background: The increasing concern for our planet’s well-being has induced an increased focus on sustainable development. It is of importance for companies to engage in sustainable development, partly since they are the reason for many sustainability-related issues, and partly because they have the resources required to solve the issues. In order to affect sustainable development, companies need to develop sustainable innovations to change their products, processes and business models. However, the research field concerning sustainable innovations is still in its infancy stage and therefore requires more research. In particular, the research field is in need of more qualitative research which refers to how sustainable innovations are developed on a company level.

Purpose: The aim of this study is to increase the understanding of how sustainability can be incorporated into the innovation process.

Method: A qualitative study with eight respondents distributed across seven semi-structured interviews.

Findings: The study points out three factors that are essential when creating an organizational culture which encourage learning. The three factors are sustainable framework, trust in the employees’ abilities and lastly freedom for employees to form their work processes. Together the factors create a learning culture that drives the incorporation of sustainability into the innovation process. The study also pinpoints the need of creating cross-functional groups in the initial phases of the innovation process. The cross-functional teams should be encouraged to use an exploratory search method. An exploratory search for innovation can be conducted within the corporation or through external collaborations.

    Abstract [en]

Unethical procedures, social irresponsibility and climate change all contribute to unsustainable development. Changing our behavior to contribute to sustainable development has therefore become increasingly important. This increased awareness of corporate social and environmental impact has meant that sustainable development has become an important issue for both companies and individuals. An important factor in contributing to a sustainable society is to direct capital flows into sustainable investments and the interest in investing sustainable has increased in recent years. Thus, the pressure on companies has increased in terms of working more with sustainability and communicating that work externally by drawing up a sustainability report. An important stakeholder group for companies is institutional investors. Our purpose was to find out how they use companies' sustainability reports to analyze a company's work with sustainability and what they consider about the credibility of sustainability reports. Given the purpose, the study aims at contributing to an increased understanding of sustainability reports and their usefulness for institutional investors. We have also intended to contribute to a greater understanding of what opinions institutional investors have about the credibility of sustainability reports. To achieve the purpose of the study, a qualitative method has been used. Qualitative interviews have been conducted with seven respondents with good knowledge in the areas of sustainable investments and sustainability reports. The result of the study shows that institutional investors believe sustainability reports are useful for analyzing a company's sustainability efforts. Corporate sustainability reports are used by all respondents, but to varying degrees. All respondents consider that other sources are also needed to obtain the information required to get a comprehensive picture of the companies' work with sustainability, so the information in the sustainability report is not sufficient. Respondents also argue that sustainability reports are credible reports, but in the case of external review, the views differ somewhat. The majority believe that it is positive if a sustainability report is externally reviewed, while a few respondents consider that an external review is of no importance.

    Abstract

The purpose of the study is to examine how the interviewed pre-school teachers describe their teaching activities to promote children's mathematics learning.

This qualitative study uses interviews as data collection methods and five teachers from five different pre-schools participated in the interviews. The pre-schools were selected based on a convenience sample and are located in a town in central Sweden. The study shows that it is important to start with mathematics in preschool already and the importance of the role educators have.

The result that appears is that the interviewed teachers believe that the teacher’s awareness is of great importance for the child's mathematical learning. It also emerged that it is in everyday situations that kids come in contact with the mathematical concepts that are available and it is in these situations that the children become aware that mathematics is everywhere. That is of importance if the children are going to be able to develop and become aware of the mathematics in their environment. It also emerges from the interviews that it is important to make use of the local work plan and curriculum for preschool, Lpfö98 and follow these continuously.

    Abstract [en]

This thesis is about the reasons for an involvement in the European Union. The thesis addresses this topic using the case of Region Jönköping County (RJL) and their involvement in the European Union. The method is content analysis to explore if the activity by RJL can be explained by the theories Europeanization and Multi-level governance using documentation from the region. Based on this, one should be able to answer the purpose of this study. The documentation under review is the 2013 Regional Development Strategy, which is valid until 2025, the Regional budget and the Operational plan for 2018, as well as the Multiannual plans for 2019-2010.

Based on these theories, several specific issues were addressed that all addressed the Europeanization Upload-, Download- and Crossload-dimension, as well as the Resource Push and Pull factors were represented. These issues were later used in the examination of the documentation to answer the issues and the purpose of the study.

A conclusion or conclusions of the study are concluded that there are some connections between the regional documentation and the theories used in this study. Which makes it possible to start drawing conclusions about the more general issues. The conclusions drawn in this thesis will be that the connections seen between the regional documentation and the theories. This means that the theories can explain what lies behind the involvement to the European Union. These theories and what they represent can also put words and underlying understanding into what lies behind and why we see some action from Region Jönköping County. This can also explain how theories can help us understand similar cases like this region.

    Abstract [en]

The purpose of the study is to demonstrate how children apply simple technology in preschool through “The Big Five”. Observations and "Interview on the move" are the method choices that answer the purpose and questions of the study. Observations and interviews have been conducted in the preschool outdoor environment during a morning and are based on the children's free play where the aim is to start from the children's perspective and reflections. The situations that have been chosen for the study are based on the children's curiosity and demonstrated interests. The result of the study shows that two of “The Big Five” are applied by the children in the preschool outdoor environment and free play. This is demonstrated by their use of the leaning plane and the wheel from “The Big Five”. It shows by their use of tools such as exploration, part of the game and through concepts. This is done through a sociocultural perspective where different factors influence children's learning.

    Abstract [en]

The curricula that defines special needs education in Swedish grammar schools states that students with intellectual disabilities should be given the possibility to participate in the planning and shaping of teaching and learning activities. The purpose of the study is to examine conditions regarding special needs students’ influence and how this influence is mediated. The focus of the study is subject based classroom situations. The method for collecting data has been observations. The empirical data consists of around 16 hours of video recordings, in addition to field notes. The observations took place in two special schools and all together 10 pupils, 5 teachers, and two student assistants participated. The theoretical framework is based on sociocultural theory with a specific focus on mediation. By using the theoretical terms object and subject positioning, the study also focuses on how teachers and students position themselves and each other. The results show that the students with intellectual disabilities are given opportunities for influence, but not very frequently.

The most important mediating factors to promote influence are the teachers´ trust in the students´ abilities and skills, and the teacher’s keen responsiveness to the students’ expressed personal will. Influence is mediated both through the possibilities of participation that teachers offer, and the teachers’ affirmation of the students’ requests. Furthermore, the study shows that students are more likely to gain influence in one-to-one meetings with the teacher, where the focus is on the student’s individual interests and preferences. In order to provide increased levels of influence to all students with intellectual disabilities, teachers need to plan the education with focus on democratic processes.

    Abstract [en]

The purpose of this study was to investigate how educators perceive their work with the planned physical activities. The study is seen along a norm- critical perspective. Yrkesföreningar för fysisk aktivitet (2016) writes that children and young people are recommended to move and get their heart rate up to about 60 minutes each day, which can be done by, for example, riding a bike and running. In the study I will investigate if educators follow these recommendations or how much physical activity kids are actually getting at the preschool. The study will highlight the importance of the daily physical activity for children in pre-school and also to study the impact children can have when it goes missing out on physical activity.

This study was made through qualitative interviews, where two preschool teachers, a child caretaker and two preschool teacher students (both have a child caretaker education since earlier) were interviewed. The results of this study showed that the educators had a positive attitude to physical activity, and they feel that their work with the physical activity most often occurs in the context of a collection or spontaneously. It was also revealed that the educators felt that the planned physical activity, often, the priority was given away, and some thought that the kids move enough outdoors and in free play.

The purpose of the study is to provide knowledge about how teachers visualize mathematics by playing in the sandbox with the children. Two approaches have been adopted in order to investigate this which are unstructured observations and semi-structured interviews. These methods were chosen to complement each other to produce the clearest results possible.

The results show that teachers' awareness of the mathematics that occur in the sandbox is of great importance. The teachers should be involved in the children´s sandbox play to participate and designate various mathematical concepts that appear. By teachers terms mathematics is made visible on the children. Artefacts found in the sandbox, such as buckets, shovels and forms are helpful to children's mathematical learning.

Årets julklapp ”INGENTING”: En fallstudie i hur svenska hjälporganisationer jobbar med gestaltning och katalysatorer för Consumer Brand Identification i sin marknadsföring.2016Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

When an individual identifies with a brand, it has been proved that he or she does to some extent perform positive actions toward the brand. It can include positive word of mouth, defending the brand in mudslinging, or intent to purchase products from the brand. For an identification to occur, the individual has to see parts of her or his soul in the brand. An important part of the marketing strategy is to show the brands values in their marketing. To facilitate this there are five key drivers that help with this process at different levels. I have in this study isolated and analyzed them in humanitarian organizations marketing. Furthermore, there is almost always some kind of strategic framing in marketing, to get consumers to increasingly understand the message and see it from the narrator's eyes. In this way, the consumer can more easily absorb what the brand is trying to say, and if the communication is performed properly, greater the chance of identification. The aim of this study is to investigate whether humanitarian organizations 1) make use of strategic framing in their marketing, 2) make use of driver for Consumer Brand Identification and 3) if those brands are easy to identify with according to these theories. To help determine this, the study used the theories of Consumer Brand Identification, strategic framing theory and parts of The prospect theory. The study has analyzed commercials from two different aid organizations: Save the Children and UNICEF. The study used a qualitative rhetorical analysis to interpret the advertisings manifest and latent messages and two compilations of strategic design and various driver for Consumer Brand Identification. The result showed that the commercials together contained all the various drivers and strategic framing elements. The interesting and noteworthy part was that the commercials did not, in some cases, use the strategic portrayal in the way that research has shown would be the best way to use them. Why this is we can only speculate about, and so I do in the final section of this paper.

    Abstract [sv]

This study aims to give an account of five teachers’ views and understandings of second language (L2) learners’ previous knowledge, as well as, their linguistic and cultural backgrounds. This is carried out by the means of qualitative interviews, where the sampling consists of five primary school teachers at various schools. The findings are presented and analyzed using a thematic analysis. Furthermore, the study indicates that teachers in general have a positive attitude to learning more about their L2 learners’ prior knowledge and backgrounds, both for the pupils, as well as, their own sake. However, they know very little about it, and there are shortcomings in the knowledge of what the appropriate approach might look like in order to find out about this. Lastly, the study also shows that teachers strive to become better at identifying the L2 learners’ backgrounds and previous knowledge.

    Abstract [en]

The aim of my study is to investigate the position of oral communication in today's schools. I am interested in the teachers' perceptions of oral communication when it comes to teaching and also how oral communication relates to writing. Several different sources describe the subject from different angles to create a clearer picture of past opinions and knowledge. The survey is conducted through the qualitative method of interviews. The theoretical starting point is based on Vygotsky's sociocultural perspective and stresses that learning is an active part through interaction between development and education, placing great responsibility on the teacher. The results are analyzed and it appears that it is difficult to determine how the verbal communication relates in school. It appears that teachers lack education in rhetoric and show thus a lack of oral communication in teacher training. The teachers interviewed emphasize, however, that work on oral communication is important for students' expression and understanding. Regarding the oral and written communication, they [?] emphasize theat interaction between these forms is important for students to develop.

    Abstract [en]

The purpose of this work is to examine the physical activity meanings and effects, and how the teachers work with it in school. I have done this partly because physical activity has always been close to my heart and that it is an important part of my future career and I wanted to get as much knowledge as possible in the field. The study examines how physical activity can promote the child in school and what the exclusion of physical activity can lead to. Because it is so that through positive experiences through situation-specific physical activities, we can help children to develop. A school with deficient activity within the physical activity can lead to children developing among other learning difficulties. The method used to get answers to my research questions were qualitative interviews with six educators at two schools, three educators at each school. Then I searched the relevant literature also forms the basis for answer to my issue. The result shows that physical activity is an important part when it comes to children. The physical activity can be helpful on so many levels and it may be involved in influencing children's different skills and areas for development. All educators I interviewed pressed that it was incredibly important for physical activity at school, but still there was no concrete work in this area it is a bit up to everyone yet and there is nothing specific that the school can offer daily.

Mediatiserad religion i ramen av humor: En studie av den amerikanska sitcom-serien the Big Bang Theory2015Independent thesis Basic level (professional degree), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

Since 2007 the American sitcom the Big Bang Theory has spread throughout the world. With its twenty million watchers it is one of the most popular sitcoms of our time. The starting point for this essay is that the humourus series with the more or less geeky main characters is more than just entertainment - it is a part of the mediatization of religion. This means that media is affecting the recipients’ view on religion in general and the personal religion. As we watch TV, we get socialized into how to act in our every day life. In this case, it is about religion depicted as entertainment. Through a film analysis of a number of selected scenes from the first three seasons of the series, this essay stresses the representation of the religious traditions Judaism, Christianity, Hinduism and religion in general. On the basis of etnocentrism, exitocism and a differentiation between religious praxis and religious beliefs my conclution is that Jews are portrayed in a very ”modern” and secular way, Christians are narrow-minded and quite stupid and Hindus are doing strange rituals and believe in very unreasonable phenomena. Religion in general is portrayed as something accepted but it should be rational and religous practice has its own time and place.

    Abstract [en]

This essay aims to study students’ consumption of news, their criticism towards sources and knowledge of facts about big news events. Surveys about the terror attacks in Brussels in March 2016 were handed out in order to collect data. The goal was to create a comprehensive picture of youths between the age of 16-20. The background of this topic is that all students in upper secondary school today have access to all news in the world, which has increased the need for knowledge on which sources to trust. Even though they have this unlimited access to news and information, studies showed that the younger generation has the lowest consumption of news and is the largest age group that do not consume news at all. This affects the teachers who meet and educate them; particularly the teachers in social studies where teachers often include studying the news in the classroom and the curriculum says to grade the students’ ability to criticize sources. 109 upper secondary school students from two schools participated in the survey. The results showed that about 60-80% reflect critically on news sources and they received information mainly from online newspapers and articles on social media. The results from the questions on the Brussel incidents generated two conclusions; the results showed that the knowledge varied depending on the type of knowledge asked for. Furthermore, as a group, 47% of the questions were correct answered. These results also confirm that society needs to teach the youngest generation the importance of reading, listening and watching the news in order to prevent political gaps in the future.

    Abstract [en]

The purpose of the study was to describe how teachers interpret information in curriculum about the term worldview, and how they plan and perform education. The term worldview describes as a ground experience about humans’ worldviews. Humans can have different experiences in religious and non-religious meaning. Humans view on existence and the world, could be from a worldview. The term worldview includes many questions about why we exist, how humans are, what society stands for and the belief in “higher power”. International research from the 70th showed that there is not an equivalent term for the word “livsåskådning” (worldview). In the curriculum Lpo94, describes how education active can promote humans equal value. In the curriculum Lgr11 describes how humans view on life had changed and still is. Religion and worldview is central terms in education of religion, because they are important for the human culture. In society of today we live in diversity and with increased knowledge we understand each other better. In education in religion will pay attention to how human in religious traditions lives and express their beliefs in different ways. In curriculum Lgr11 describes how the pupils should have abil- ity to develop and reflect over their questions of life, identity and approach.

In education are discussions about what may affect pupils understanding to religion and their worldview. There is negative aspects with teachers decisions about content in edu- cation when teachers themselves have an own worldview and interpretation that they think are important. This could lead to that the pupils not have ability to develop their own worldview.

The connection between worldview and didactics shows how pupils should be given space to create their own choice between different worldviews. Education in religion should provide pupils knowledge about different worldviews. The pupils are often given knowledge about world religions and a fast review about worldviews. Non-religious worldviews constitute a part of the subject of religion in different forms of rituals and culture.

The study is built on a qualitative design, which means to develop deeper understanding of the subject. This study is based on interviews with three teachers in elementary school, 4-6, who teaches religion. The interviews was performed with semi- structured, audio recording interviews with opened supplementary. After the interviews the material was transcribed directly by the author. The text was read several times to find similarities and differences in the teacher’s description of the term worldview. The result are divided in categories that connect the interview questions. Four categories showed: The term worldview, Teachers description of the term worldview in the curriculum and Teachers interpretation of the curriculum and also planning and implementing of their education current worldview. In the category teacher’s interpretation of the curriculum and also planning and implementing of their education current worldview are divided into five subcategories: interpretation, implementing and teacher’s description of the pupils and teachers team. The result showed that informants did not have awareness about the term worldview and did not have time to educate about the term in the subject religion. The study also showed that the teachers thought it were difficult to discuss the term with the pupils their worldview though it could perceive as sensitivity.

Processorienterad verksamhetsutveckling med Gamification som möjliggörare: En fallstudie vid Karlstads kommun2014Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [sv]

Projektportföljhantering i processindustrin:En fallstudie2017Independent thesis Advanced level (degree of Master (One Year)), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

Working in projects is part of everyday business life nowadays. Most business segments utilize projects as a way of organizing their work. How do companies succeed with their projects? They improve their project management skills. But project success and business success are not synonymous, companies need to run the right projects, and have to succeed with prioritization between individual projects. This problem occurs on a different level compared to just management of a single project, portfolio management include the whole business. Project portfolio management systems aid companies in making well founded prioritizing and coordination decisions.

Process industry is a unique business segment in the way that the manufacturing chain is very long from raw material to finished products. A complex environment with lots of dependencies between different departments creates difficulties succeeding in project portfolio management. To address these difficulties and in order to gain understanding of the problems in process industrial project portfolio management, a case study was conducted at a process oriented company. Semistructured interviews were conducted at four technology oriented departments, the conclusions/problem areas were identified as:

    • The departments have different project management needs
    • The departments don’t have 100% insight into each other´s projects
    • Every department have their own plan/vision for the future development
    • There are no centralized or fully dedicated project management/project portfolio management function
    • It’s a complex project environment
    • All departments have their own project models, it’s impossible to share one single generalized model

In the conclusion chapter, discussions are presented on how the project portfolio management theory suggests that similar problems can be addressed. This one year master thesis (D-level) describes the methods of which the explorative case study was conducted, what problems that were identified and how continued work can be aimed at investigating the project portfolio management subject in process industry further.

Skolmiljöns betydelse för inkludering2015Independent thesis Advanced level (professional degree), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [sv]

    Abstract [en]

The purpose of this study is to explore how and which communicative tools five different pre-school teachers use to communicate with children in the ages of one to two years old, and in that way contribute to the area of knowledge about how to use communicative tools in pre-school. To answer the purpose and the questions of issue I used non-participating observations as my method, which means that I kept myself in the background to influence the situation as little as possible. The result shows that pre-school teachers use different artifacts, ACC and the pre-school environment to communicate with children. ACC was for example used in connection to food situations.

    Abstract [en]

The purpose of this study was to investigate how factors such as the home environment and children's social and emotional relationships might affect the literacy development, especially if children who live in a dysfunctional environment are at risk of further reading- and writing difficulties. I have been inspired by triangulation, and have used three different kinds of qualitative interviews for the study. Due to the restrictions of the size for this study, I have had to limit the amount of interviews and have conducted interviews with two adult survivors using unstructured conversational interviews, which share many similarities with regular life stories. I have also conducted a semi-structured interview with a teacher for special needs education.  The results of the study showed that a child’s environment, culture and past experience can inhibit or support the literacy development. For those children who live in a dysfunctional environment, the literacy development affects negatively because of the lack of security, motivation, support and structure, important things which a child needs. This kind of environment is causing emotional and concentration difficulties because the mind is focused on other things than school work, which inhibit the learning.
