    Abstract [en]

The purpose of this study is to investigate some pre-school teachers’ perception on the importance of play from a learning perspective. The study is based on qualitative semi-structured interviews. Four pre-school teachers participated in the interviews.

The questions that have guided my work are:How do preschool teachers perceive the concepts of play and learning? Are they two different concepts or are they linked? In what way do preschool teachers perceive that they can use the play as tools for developing children's learning and development?

The results of this study show that pre-school teachers believe that there is a strong connection between learning and play. According to the pre-school teachers, play is an important part of learning. Children learn through playing with other children and adults. In order to understand my results, I have used a socio-cultural perspective as a theoretical point of departure.
