    Abstract [en]

    An organizations employees play a crucial part in the building of the organization, and it is thus of high interest for the organization to keep a regular dialogue with its workforce. This thesis will address the internal organizational communications with focus on the channel house magazine.

    The main purpose of this study is to examine whether house magazines works as a communication channel in an organization. As the society gets more digitalized and the development of internet gets more and more present in working environments, this thesis will address the subject of electronic house magazine. Corporate intranet containing an array of information, available online for the employees, are more and more considered as a primary internal communications channel. House magazines get a different, significant role in the building of organizational identification, which this thesis also will address.

    In order to investigate our research questions we have carried-out two empirical studies, quantitative web-based surveys as well as a qualitative focus group, the empirical studies have resulted in a mixed evaluation of the role of the house magazine for organizational identification. The results also prove that a merely electronic version of the house magazine would not be very well accepted among the employees, as a consideration of the respondents appreciate receiving the magazine in the letterbox.
