Abstract [en]

A quantum-mechanical model is constructed for a microscopic quantum system in interaction with a macroscopic measurement apparatus (described by a large number of stochastic variables). The theoretical framework is scattering theory of quantum field theory with unitary time evolution. Within this model, the Born rule is obtained in the thermodynamic limit of infinitely many stochastic variables.
