Abstract [en]

In my thesis I have written about the reading habits of our young students. I am interested in knowing what boys and girls choose to read and what might effect them in their choice of reading. I have examined the reading habits of fifteen -year-old Swedish students in year 8 to see what type of reading they do, and I have also examined how their world of interest looks like outside of school, and if this can correlate to their reading habits. Questionnaires have been used. The results show that girls tend to read more books than boys and that girls are more positive towards the litterature they read in school. The results also show that both boys and girls spend a lot of their leisure time practicing different types of sport, but that boys spend considerably more time on computer games than girls do.
