Abstract [en]

The purpose of this study was to find out how pedagogues and children in preschool use tablets focusing on technology. In what ways do pedagogues work in order to reach the objectives and guidelines that are a part of the Preschool policy document? The qualitative semi-structured interview was used for the implementation of this study. The interview was conducted on seven pedagogues working within the preschool system. The result of the study did show that the pedagogues working at preschools in the middle part of Sweden used tablets frequently and that they had a lot of ideas on how to use them for pedagogic activities within the workplace.

 It also became clear that an important factor of the pedagogues’ skills working with tablets and technology with tablets and technology was mainly based on their own interest in the field. Their pre-existing skills and interest enhance their willingness to develop and find new ways to work with tablets and technology as a pedagogic tool in preschool.
