Abstract [en]



The purpose ofthis studywas to investigate how the attitudes of educatorstowards Sign Supported English and the way in which they use it in a medium-sized municipality and in general if Sign Supported Language is used or not used. Questionnaires were sent out to six preschools in the municipality, it was 36 educators participatedin the survey.The results showsthat all the teachers in the survey were in favor of Sign Supported English and all respondents believe it is a good tool in preschool language development in children.The results also showed there was hardly any different between carers and the preschool teachers in their attitudes or use of Sign Supported Language. The result shows that all the educators in the survey would like to make more use of Sign Supported English in their educational work.
