Detta examensarbete utforskar min egen instudering av violinstämman i Edward Elgars sonat i E-moll för violin och piano utifrån ett hermeneutiskt fenomenologiskt perspektiv. Insamlingen av data har skett under cirka en termin och i form av loggboksskrivande vid varje tillfälle som jag övat på sonaten eller repeterat den tillsammans med en pianist och medmusikant. Analysresultaten kretsar kring skillnader i fokus som funnits under olika övningspass gällande de tekniska kontra de musikaliska aspekterna och presenteras i resultatkapitlet som fem teman, Teknik i fokus över tid, Konstnärliga aspekter tar plats, Klanger, smaker, färger, Det oförutsedda och dess direkta betydelse samt En symbios mellan teknik och musik. Temana berör olika aspekter av min instudering och de ställs under diskussionskapitlet mot tidigare forskning inom området

Abstract [en]

This thesis explores my own study of the violin part in Edward Elgar’s Sonata in E minor for violin and piano based on a hermeneutic phenomenological perspective. The data collection took place during approximately one semester and in the form of log writing at every occasion that I practiced the sonata or rehearsed it together with my pianist and fellow musician. The analysis results revolve round differences in focus that existed during different practice sessions regarding the technical aspects versus the musical aspects and presented in the results chapter as five themes. The themes deal with different aspects of my rehearsal and they are later set against previous research in the area in the discussion.
