Abstract [en]

Research shows an increase in mental health problems of children. Swedish preschool should closely work with the home and consequently complement the home by creating the best conditions for the development of each child. In line with Curriculum for preschool, shall constant conversation with guardians about the visit at the pre-school and outside, pre-school staff shall promote the individual's well-being, learning and development in the activity. The responsibility overall for ensuring children receive the support they need to develop versatile, lies with preschool leaders. So far, it may seem that mental illness should not be a difficulty to detect. A study of pre-school leaders interviewed in two different municipalities described mental illness as not particularly common when research shows the opposite.
