Abstract [en]
Internal change projects tend to face more resistance than other projects. It is usually due to the change in the overall balance of the organization.
Previous research shows that it is the project manager's role to manage the conflicts that occurs within the project. The most important thing is not to reduce conflicts. It is more important to have tools and strategies to manage and make the project more efficient.
The purpose of this study is to examine how conflicts are handled when they occur within the project of internal change projects.
Qualitative methods were chosen based on the study's purpose and research question
The six respondents who were interviewed are working in the public sector in Värmland, Sweden.
The studys result and analysis is examined thru thematic analysis to obtain the relevant themes that could answer the question.
The conclusion shows that project manager´s uses different leadership styles and conflict styles depending on whether it is an issue conflict or relationship conflict. To achieve the project goals, they use various strategies and tools. It also shows that there is a conscious reflection by the project manager´s regarding conflicts
