In this essay, I go into the social interaction and its nature in the engagering environment. The purpose of this thesis was to investigate and describe the experiences of social interaction in a workshop environment and its importance to the enjoyment of their colleagues. I examine how social interaction is influenced by factors such as adaptation, expression and emotions. I have investigated this with a quantitative approach. I analyzed the social interaction of an engineering organization based on four themes - the relationship with colleagues, experiences of adapting, how emotions influence the work situation and social adjustment. In relation to their colleagues the results show that cooperation and the comfort works very well. The majority believes it is very important what their surroundings like them. In experiences of adapting, the result shows that it, to a greater extent, is the older people who feel that they can often say what they think and feel, while the younger often feel that they do not have the same opportunity. In experiences of adaptation, it is often women who feel that they adapt to situations with colleagues. The result also shows that the majority think it is important that you get to express your feelings and that they can do so. The majority of respondents feel that they, for the most part or at times, get to express their feelings. Those who feel valued in the workplace are also the ones that thrive well with their colleagues. The result of social adjustment shows that the overwhelming majority feel that they are trying to influence the social context. But the feeling of always being able to influence clearly differ between the genders, where men feel they have more opportunity to influence the social interaction.
