Information Systems Development: A Frame of Reference and Classifications
Karlstad University, Faculty of Economic Sciences, Communication and IT, Department of Information Systems and Project Management.
1989 (English)Conference paper, (Refereed)
Abstract [en]

The paper is an attempt to classify the process of information systems development in different ways. The main perspective is that information systems should support business activities in organizations. The development process is illustrated by our V-model, ISAC-model and SIV-model. We have experience of applications of these models from Swedish industry. At the end a three-dimensional classicfication in function analysis, object analysis and event analysis is presented as a base for comparisons of information systems development methodologies.

The paper was presented at the following scientific conferences:

1. First International Conference on Advanced Information Systems Engineering, CAiSE'89, 9-11 May 1989, Swedish Institute for Systems Development - SISU, Kista, Stockholm, Sweden

2. First International Conference on Information Systems Development - ISD 1988 - Current Trends in Information Systems Development Methodologies, 27-30 June, Paraszyno, Technical University of Gdanskoland together with University of Gdansk, Poland

The article was prepublished as V-report 4801, The Institue for Business Process Devolpment (Institute V) at Stockholm School of Economics (1 July 1988).
