Abstract [sv]

The purpose of this study was to describe how nurse anaesthetist and operating room nurses perceive perioperative conversations if the are a perioperative dialogue. The study has an indictive design and the data are nursesÕ narrative descriptions. The informants are 69 nurse anaesthetists and operating room nurses. The results of the study show that the perioperative dialogue can perform the function of a model for perioperative nursing care. The perioperative dialogue is an opportunity for the patient to feel a degree of comfort in the patient role. The nurses create continuity in the nurses practice and the patient will be viewed as an unique person. The perioperative visits have beneficial effect on both the patientsÕ and on the operating room nursesÕ experiences of planning and implementation
