Abstract [en]

This is the documented result of the international symposium entitled

"Communication and Regional Development", held at Karlstad University on

September 17-19, 2001. The symposium was organised by the Regional Science

Research Unit at Karlstad University as a part of the long term cooperation

between Karlstad University and Tottori University, Japan.



The following sub-themes were central to the symposium: Infrastructure and

regional development, Face-to-face meetings and regional development,

Information technology and regional development, and Physical communication

or distant communication - implications for regional development.
