To illustrate the practical use of a method, quantitative and qualitative are used to answer the two minor research questions. First are the determinants of internal factors that affect a bank performance by CAMEL framework, then some external factors that affect investors such as regulations, taxes and culture. Cases in the thesis are two commercial banks in Sweden and Thailand. The data for this thesis is secondary data, mainly from literatures, annual reports and internet. Finding, a suggested model is a practical tool for investors, who wish to evaluate the chance to investment in banking system in totally different markets. For internal factors, to be comparable, investors need to standardize the numeric data by re-statement follow international accounting standards. The data will be analysis by multi liner regression function in SPSS software, and link the results to real business activities which were disclosure in annual reports to get deeper understand. Never the less, only the number will has limited meaning because each number will have different meaning in the different context, especially in the totally different markets. So the external aspects about industry regulations, taxation for investors‘ income, and domestic culture need to be interpreted as well.
