Dealing with stress in afterschool activities (English)
Abstract [sv]

Syftet med arbetet var att undersöka vilka åtgärder som vidtogs för att hantera situationen på en fritidshemsavdelning där pedagogerna upplever att det råder en hög stressnivå. Jag ville även ta reda på om det fanns tydliga förhållningssätt hur man bemöter stress och hur de i så fall såg ut. Undersökningen har byggt på kvalitativa intervjuer gjorda med fritidspedagogerna och några av barnen på fritidshemsavdelningen. Intervjufrågorna utformades för att ge en bild av handledning som pedagogerna har fått och hur barn och pedagoger upplevde situationen på fritidshemmet. Resultatet visade att pedagogerna till stor del upplevde stress och ibland maktlöshet, medans barnens uppfattning av stress inte var lika omfattande. Pedagogerna redogjorde för handledningen de fått och vad de har applicerat på verksamheten. Mina slutsatser var att det finns enkla tillvägagångssätt att använda som snabbt reducerar stress och aggressivt beteende.

Abstract [en]

The purpose with this study was to examine the measures taken to deal with the situation in a departement of afterschool activities where the teachers experienced a high stresslevel. Moreover, I wanted to determine whether there existed approaches on how to deal with the stress, or not, and how they were constructed. This field study consists of qualitative interviews with the teachers and some of the children at the specific departement. The interview guestions were constructed to provide a picture of the guidence the teachers had gotten and how the children and teachers experienced the situation. The result showed that the teachers experienced stress, and sometimes felt powerless, yet that the childrens apprehension of stress was not as clear. The teachers also accounted for the supervision they had had and the measurements applied on the activites. My conclusion is that there exists simple solutions to use that easily alliviate the level of stress and reduces aggressive behaviour.
