Abstract [en]

The purpose with the study was to examine the relationship between play and sex on the school yard among children in spare time activity. This through responding to the issues:” Are there differences in what boys and girls plays?” and” Does boys and girls play together or individually?” The study was done through observations on the school yard at three occasions, the children that were observed where between sex and eight years old.

The result showed that boys and girls rather play with friends of same sex. This was most clearly at the football yard where only a few girls were. The climbing frame that was on the schoolyard during my observations was the girl’s equivalence to the boy’s football ground, however not in same extent. It was more common that boys detained itself among the girls at climbing frame than what was common that girls where with on the football ground. At a point where the observation took place was a place that was like a neutral zone, that area was at the swings.
