Abstract [en]

A strong and efficent protection against offensive treatment has missing for childrenand pupils. Conseqently the govrnment proposed in the government bill"Trygghet,respekt och ansvar om förbud mot diskriminering och annan kränkande behandling av barn och elever", that a law supporting equal standing and working against diskrimination and offensive treatment should be in force April 1 2006.The purpose of this study is to investigate what teachers comprehend as offensive treatment and how they look on preventive work against this.

To carry out the study a a group-interview was made out whith five teachers.The result of the study points shoves that the subject is complex. For instance it was eveident you perhaps offend someone without being aware of it. Further it came out if you feel offended or not, depends on the relationship between the persons. The teachers did also express uncertaintyof the effects of the law but find it important that the issue is discussed.All teachers express the importance of being a good model as a teacher and that the personel work whith it. All the teachers work preventively against offensive treatment in forms of value practices in different projekt as "Charlie" and "Vett och etikett".
