Abstract [en]
Time-sensitive Networking (TSN) is a set of extensions to the Ethernet standard for providing deterministiccommunication services over a converged network infrastructure.A key element thereby is meeting end-to-end latency requirements, which can be achieved for wired links by properlyconfiguring TSN endpoints and switches using IEEE 802.1AStime synchronization and an IEEE 802.1Qbv time-aware shaper. However, wireless links commonly exhibit performance uncertainties, which introduce additional challenges for deterministiccommunication. This paper proposes a new method for configuring TSN networks with wireless links, focusing on cyclicallyscheduled traffic. We design a linear program that synthesizesTSN configurations robust to performance uncertainties of wireless links, by adjusting the transmission schedule at the first wirednetwork node. Moreover, we develop an opportunistic version ofthe scheduling when the senders transmit multiple frames withintheir sending interval.
