The present paper addresses the relationship between individuals' attachment patterns and their relationship with God. The study was conducted as a quantitative survey within the field of religious psychology, and aimed to investigate the connections between attachment patterns and the type of God relationship among practicing congregation members within the Church of Sweden. Data were collected through surveys using the Attachment to God Inventory (AGI) and Attachment Style Questionnaire (ASQ), distributed in conjunction with church services. The study is based on responses from 63 participants from four different congregations in the Stockholm area. Proposed hypotheses were partially confirmed, as the results revealed significant positive correlations between attachment insecurity and specific dimensions of insecure God relationships, while significant negative correlations were found between attachment security and specific dimensions of insecure God relationships. However, similar associations were not observed when considering all dimensions of insecure God relationships, highlighting the importance of further investigating the relationship between attachment patterns and God relationships within Swedish samples.
