Abstract [sv]

Under det senaste året har ett förändrat ränteläge setts i Sverige och forskning på bolån ur bolånetagarnas perspektiv ses vara begränsad. Den tidigare forskningen har antingen handlat om bolånekonsumenter som grupp eller endast fokuserat på en specifik grupp, som exempelvis studenter eller ett specifikt åldersspann. I denna studie har det undersökts om det finns skillnader mellan hur olika åldersgrupper väljer bolånegivare.

Syftet med studien är att utforska och förklara om det finns åldersbaserade skillnader på hur konsumenter väljer bolånegivare. 

Författarna tillämpade en kvantitativ metod av datainsamling i form av en digital enkät. Enkäten resulterade i 101 användbara svar från respondenter i åldrarna 20-64 år som var bosatta i Sverige. Den insamlade datan analyserades i SPSS där medelvärden och ANOVA-test identifierade bland annat skillnader i attityder mellan konsumenter i olika åldersgrupper.

Studien visade att det finns åldersbaserade skillnader i hur konsumenter väljer bolånegivare. Konsumenter i olika åldrar värderar bolånegivares servicekvalité, påverkan från sin omgivning och upplevd självförmåga olika. Skillnader kunde observeras vid värderingen av attribut som exempelvis personlig bankkontakt, förtroende för rekommendationer av vänner och kollegor gällande bolån och hur trygga konsumenterna är i sin förmåga att välja bolånegivare. 

Abstract [en]

Interest rate hikes in Sweden have changed the mortgage landscape and research on mortgages from the perspective of mortgage holders is perceived as limited. Previous research in the field has dealt with mortgage consumers as a group or only focused on select groups. In this study, it will be investigated whether there are differences between how different age groups choose mortgage lenders.

The purpose of the study is to explore and explain whether there are age-based differences in how consumers choose mortgage lenders.

The authors utilized a quantitative method of data collection in the form of a digital survey. The survey resulted in 101 useful answers from respondents aged 20-64 years old who were residing in Sweden. The collected data was analyzed in SPSS where means and ANOVA tests identified differences in consumer behavior between consumers of different age groups.

The study showed that there are age-based differences in how consumers choose mortgage lenders. Consumers of different ages value mortgage lenders' service quality, influence from their surroundings and perceived self-efficacy differently. Differences could be observed, for example, in the evaluation of attributes such as personal bank contact, trust in mortgage related recommendations from friends and colleagues, as well as how comfortable they are in choosing a mortgage lender.
