Abstract [en]

This bachelor thesis explores approaches to the interpretation and performance of the First Piano Concerto by the Russian composer Dmitri Shostakovich. The aim of this thesis project is to explore how a study of the musical language of Shostakovich and the structure of the Piano Concerto may lead to more informed and precise performa- tive interpretation of the piece.
