Abstract [en]
Lab trials • The heat capacity had an impact on the surface temperature and drying rate in the laboratory trials • There was a correlation between a higher surface temperature and evaporation for temperatures above 50-60°C, at lower temperatures the total energy and the surface temperature were needed to describe the evaporation during drying Pilot trials • Temperatures after the IR dryer were generally above 60°C and the temperature was therefore a good indication of dryness • Substrate properties and coating pick had a greater impact than coating formulation in pilot scale experiments.
