Abstract [en]

This research has aimed to investigate how the pursuit of higher diversity through an inclusive culture affects the leadership performed by the managers within corporations. The study is based on five interviews, and the candidates were identified by a contact person at Löfbergs AB which led to invites through email to participate in the interviews. The conducted interviews were based on an interview guide that was created by the researchers. The interviews had a semi-structured format, which made it possible to obtain relevant and in-depth knowledge of subjects concerning the area of investigation. The analysis of the collected data results was done through re-watching recorded interviews, which were later transcribed and analyzed following the grounded theory. The research implies that leaders within organizations striving for diversity and inclusiveness tend to be more democratic, have a combination of concern for tasks with concern for relationships, and have a combination of concern for people with concern for results. The leaders also tend to adjust their leadership in relation to followers' degree of maturity. These types of leaders also work with transformative leadership, mainly through making followers aware of their contributions and therefore creating higher motivation.
