The present study has examined how the use of history is expressed in the television dramatization Fröken Frimans krig (Miss Frman ́s War), which is freely based on the life of suffrage advocate Anna Whitlock. The TV series depicts female liberation in early 20th- century Stockholm, from several perspectives, of which this essay has studied this with a focus on opposition to women ́s suffrage and female entrepreneurship. It has also been studied on the basis of how the use of history can be understood in relation to the theories that figure as a basis for the thesis, which have been based on professor Ulf Zander. Consequently, the tv series itself has served as the study ́s source material, the study of which has been concentrated on decoding some phenomena in order to limit the scope of the study. The essay can show how the use of history is expressed thorough recurring patterns and actors, with concentrations to several of professor Zander ́s theoretical frameworks.
