Abstract [en]

The purpose with this essay is to examine China’s Foreign Aid Policy from a soft power perspective and what it means for Zambia as a country.

The question this paper is based upon is: What aspects of soft power can be found in China’s foregin aid policy and what does it mean for Zambia as a country?

The result shows that it isn’t a win-win situation for both parties but a win for China. When it comes to China's foregin aid policy they emphasize the importance of respecting the sovereignty of states, the result shows that China does not respect the sovereignty of states.

One can also conclude that China’s aid policy is not soft power but hard power in the end.
