Gustaf Fröding and Karlstad : An analysis of Gustaf Fröding's role in the marketing and identity making of the municipality of Karlstad (English)
Abstract [en]

The purpose of this work is to analyze how the Swedish poet Gustaf Fröding and his artistry is used by the municipality of Karlstad to reach regional growth. The cultural plan is used to get a picture of how culture is used to obtain regional growth among various information sites to see how Fröding is presented by the municipality. Idea analysis is then used to analyze the cultural plan and the different places the poet is represented in the city. The result shows a highly instrumental usage of Fröding and his heritage, but the idea of preserving is also present. The study is then finished off by discussing the democratic aspects of the subject.
