Kryptokonst: Den digitala konstens framtid?

Abstract [en]

This paper focuses on crypto art, also known as NFTs. The purpose of this paper is to study how crypto art has affected artists and art collectors, and what positive and negative effects the technology has. I have analyzed both academic and non-academic books, articles and online posts, and made a minor formal and content analysis of a crypto artwork.

Some of the positive aspects of the NFT technology are that artists who mostly operate digitally have the possibility to get a token of originality on their artworks while collectors have the opportunity to add unique pieces to their collections. The biggest negative aspect of the technology is the environmental damage because of the major energy consummation required of the current system, which has given the technology a huge amount of critique.
