När första världskriget bröt ut år 1914 påverkades kvinnors situation i arbetslivet. Syftet med den här undersökningen är att ur ett genusperspektiv undersöka hur kvinnotidskriften Hertha porträtterade kvinnors situation i arbetslivet. Det källmaterial som ligger till grund för undersökningen är artiklar ur tidskriften Hertha som finns tillgängligt via Göteborgs universitetsbibliotek. En analys av materialet genomförs med hjälp av Yvonne Hirdmans teori om genuskontrakt och utvidgning och isärhållande.

When the First World War broke out in 1914, the situation of women in working life was affected. The purpose of this study is to examine how the women's journal Hertha portrayed women’s work situation during WWI. The material used for this study are article from the journal Hertha, which is available via the Gothenburg University Library. An analysis of the material is made with the help of Yvonne Hirdman's theories of gender.
