Syftet med denna studie är att synliggöra hur lärare resonerar kring användandet av digitala verktyg för att utveckla elevers kunskaper i att läsa och skriva. Vidare är syftet att lyfta fram utmaningar som lärare finner centrala vid att arbeta stödjande med de digitala verktygen tillsammans med elever i deras läs- och skrivutveckling. Den använda metoden bygger på semistrukturerade kvalitativa intervjuer där informanterna består av fem stycken lärare. Studiens resultat visar att lärarna är eniga i att digitala verktyg är ett bra hjälpmedel att använda för att stödja elever i deras läs- och skrivutveckling, framförallt är verktygen positiva för de elever som har läs- och skrivsvårigheter. De påpekar dock att det måste finnas en balans mellan digitaliseringen och det analoga arbetet för att elevernas utvecklig ska vara positiv. Lärarna förklarar hur deras applicering av de digitala verktygen ser ut och man ser att appliceringen ser olika ut. Samtliga lärare synliggör flera centrala utmaningar med att arbeta med digitala verktyg i stödjande syfte. En av de största utmaningarna är att båda lärare och elever bör ha en god teknisk kompetens för att arbetat ska fungera gynnsamt och stödjande.

The aim of this study is to highlight how teachers’ reason about the use of digital tools in order to develop pupils reading and writing skills. The aim is also to highlight the challenges that teachers find central in working supportively with digital tools together with their pupils in order to develop their reading and writing skills. The method used is a semi-structured qualitative interview where the informants consist of five teachers. The result of the study shows that all the teachers agree that digital tools are good aids to use in order to support pupils in their reading and writing development, especially in order to aid and support those pupils who have reading and writing difficulties. However, the teachers point out that there must be a good balance between the digitalization and the analogue work in order for the pupil’s development to be positive. The teachers explain how their application of the digital tools look and it is seen that they vary. All teachers highlight several central challenges of working with digital tools for supportive purposes. One of the most central challenges they present is that both teachers and pupils need to have good technical skills in order to work in a favorable and supportive way.
