Teaching through literature : To use the story as a teaching tool (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

This study is about how fictional texts are used in primary and lower secondary school-classes. Also, what strategies may be behind successful learning and how fiction can be used as a learning tool. Since this type of literary texts in my opinion can join the younger audience with the adults it might have the ability to create a platform were children and teacher can interact in the learning process. The learning is guided by the adults in education and in this study, it will be presented why the teacher´s educational responsibility and dedication to teaching are reflected on the students own learning. Theories that are presented in the study shows how two sides of the learning affects children, in a mental way and as a practical knowledge. Also, how teachers in different grades choose to deal with the subject. And one last aspect of the study investigates the options for the literary texts to be used in other school subjects that aren´t directly associated to linguistics.
