Super-Musician Serum : A self-observation study of practise strategies in higher music education from a sociocultural perspective (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

The aim of the study is to through self-observation highlight methods on how strategies concerning practise are introduced in higher music education. The study sought to investigate whether any given rules or work processes could be found regarding how music practise was approached. The study’s research material was documented through audio recording and a diary by the observed student. Practise was understood in terms of three different categories regarding material tools, symbolic tools and teaching praxis from a sociocultural perspective and mestarlaere. The teacher’s usage of cultural tools during lessons was found to be central to the student’s creation of his or her practise strategies. Lastly, the idea of a framework for practise was discussed together with the importance and relevance of the results in relation to existing research and literature in the same field.
