In this thesis, you can read about how two father figures in two popular and common Swedish children´s books are represented. The purpose of this study is to illustrate how the two father figures are portrayed by the authors and what they resemble in the eye of the reader. What similarities do these father figures have and what differ in their relationships to their children. Another aspect of this study is to see how children´s literature can be used in a classroom to raise awareness about gender and norm. I have studied Astrid Lindgrens book, Ronja Rövardotter and Gunilla Bergströms books about the boy Alfons Åberg. The main questions of this thesis are how these fatherfigures and their relationships are represented in children´s books both in a parenthood perspective but also in a gender perspective.

I detta examensarbete kan du läsa om hur två olika fadersfigurer i kända svenska barnböcker är framställda. Syftet med denna studie är att illustrera hur de två fadersfigurerna är presenterade av författarna och vad de representerar. Vilka likheter och skillnader har dessa fäder som rollinnehavare men även i relationen till sina barn? Hur kan barnlitteratur som dessa användas i en klassrumssituation för att lyfta begrepp som genus och norm. Jag har studerat Astrid Lindgrens bok, Ronja Rövardotter samt Gunilla Bergströms böcker om Alfons Åberg. Frågeställningen fokuseras på hur dessa fadersfigurer och deras relationer är presenterade i barnböckerna både ur ett familjeperspektiv men även ur ett genusperspektiv.
