”I don´t want to!” : About motivation to reading and writing in the Swedish language (English)
Abstract [en]

The purpose of this study is to find out how effective the methods of supportive conversations, the teacher's positive attitude, relation to the student, the student's self-esteem as well as failures and successes influence the students to become motivated within reading and writing in the Swedish language. The methods used are a questionnaire that active teachers have answered and two observations that show which methods an active teacher can use in the teaching. The result points to how important active teachers think that the methods are and if all these methods are really needed to be able to motivate a student. But the result also shows that most of the teachers that made my poll are unsure when it comes to how they will use these methods to create motivation. All the teachers who responded to the poll says that they want to learn more about how to motivate the students.
