Abstract [en]

The purpose of this study was to find out if the children have any influence or

participation in or during the development interview. To find out this, I used

a quantitative method, questionnaires. As influence and participation are

something that the adults must allow for the children, it was the educators

and guardians who became my respondents. The survey highlighted deficiencies and has great development opportunities when it comes to children's participation in development talks. The surveys made the custodian's experience and view of their children's participation visible during the development interviews. The empirical material showed that guardians do not see the children's participation in the process of development interviews, this despite the fact that most of the teachers answered that the children are involved in the preparations. The fact that educators know what participation is, does not mean that it is practiced in practice and educators themselves think that it is complex. The survey has helped to make visible that the concepts, participation and influence can develop even more in the preschool world and in contexts such as development talks.
