Can I become a better guitarplayer by performing physical excersice? : A self-study on the relationship between regular physical exercise and musical performance (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between regular physical exercise and musical performance. The self-observation process of this study consisted of two five-week periods with the goal to examine the effects of regular physical exercise. The process consisted of an initial period during which no physical activity was peformed followed by another period when physical activity was performed regularly. The result of this study is based on loggbook entries which were made during several musical practice sessions that took place on several occations during both periods. The observations that were made during the practice sessions were later analysed from a phenomenological perspective with emphasis on the phenomenology of the body. The result has been divided into four different themes which describe different experiences, thoughts and reflections that frequently occurs in the observations. The result of the study is later discussed in relationship to the litterature and earlier research that has been presented in the study.
