This degree project, ten points of the education, is trying to answer the question if the pupils’ needs are satisfied by the teachers in the school of today. The schools control document, the curriculum, says that the pupils education will be designed by their basic conditions and needs, also the “Salamancadeklarationen” mean that the child and its quality have to be the essential issue. My opinion is that the style of children’s learning is a great part of their basic condition, the way for every pupil to learn like they best understand. The style of learning can own many aspects and of that reason I have decided to mark off the area by having Howard Gardner and his theory, about the first seven intelligences, as the starting point of this project. The project gives a presentation of the intelligence properties and the world’s opinion about them. It also gives example of respective intelligence expressions in school and which profession consider as usual. A few proposals are created for the teachers, their thinking of satisfying the pupil, the proposal is about teaching methods and work environments. To investigate whether or not the teachers satisfy the pupil I’ve made interviews, two with teachers and four with pupils. I have with the teacher interviews tried to understand if they think they satisfy the pupils’ need of learning in different ways. By the interviews with the children I’ve tried to understand if the teacher is attentive for their needs. The end result I introduce, when the interviews are made, says that the teachers don’t satisfy the pupils need but they think they are doing it. That result is based on the teachers’ interview answer, when they can’t tell how they do it (concrete examples) only that they’re doing it.

Det här examensarbetet på tio poäng försöker besvara frågan om elevers behov av att lära på olika sätt tillgodoses av lärarna i dagens skola. Skolans styrdokument läroplanen säger att utbildningen skall utformas bland annat utifrån varje elevs förutsättningar och behov, även Salamancadeklarationen påvisar att barnet och des egenskaper ska vara i centrum. Jag anser att inlärningsstilar är en stor del av elevens förutsättningar, på vilket sätt varje individ lär sig på bästa sätt. Inlärningsstilar kan vara så mycket därför har jag valt att avgränsa det genom att endast utgå ifrån Howard Gardners teori om de sju första intelligenserna. Arbetet ger en presentation av de olika intelligensernas egenskaper och hur världen ser på dem, även hur de kan ge uttryck i skolan och vilket yrkesval som anses vanligt för respektive intelligens. Några få förslag har givits på hur lärare kan tänka för att tillgodose eleverna med hjälp av undervisningsmetod och undervisningsmiljö. En undersökning har gjorts där jag valt att intervjua två lärare och fyra barn. Jag har med lärarintervjuerna försökt att ta reda på om de tycker att de tillgodoser elevernas behov. Barnintervjuerna gjordes för att utifrån deras synvinkel se om lärarna är lyhörda för deras behov. Det resultat jag presenterar efter min undersökning är att lärarna inte tillgodoser elevernas behov men har själva en tro om att de gör det.
