Child’s play starts at the nursing table - are adults aware of this? This is the name of the following examination paper which deals with child’s play and how important it is. I discuss play and how it manifests itself. I also discuss what Lpfö-98 has to say about the subject, but above all this paper is about how child’s play starts at the nursing table and what role adults has in this. The results presented in this paper build upon questions, with four staff members and three parents, all of them from the same preschool. The reseerch questions were: What is play and why do children play? When does a child start playing? How does that play manifest itself? What is the adult’s role and how can an adult influence the development of play? By interpreting the answers I have been able to answer my main research question and came to the conclusion that adults have a good view on child’s play and that they are able to appreciate the value of it. Although the survey shows that not everyone share the same level of knowledge it does show that adults will do their best and only want what is best for their children’s play.

Leken föds på skötbordet -Vet vi vuxna det? Är namnet på följande examensarbete som handlar om barns lek och hur viktig den är. Jag tar upp vad som är lek och hur den ser ut. Jag tar även upp vad som sägs i Lpfö-98 om ämnet, men framför allt är det här ett arbete om att leken föds på skötbordet och vad den vuxna har för roll i den. Jag har kommit fram till ett resultat genom att låta 4 personal och 3 föräldrar, alla från samma förskola, berätta skriftligt utifrån bl.a. frågorna: Vad som är lek och varför barn leker? När ett barn börjar leka och hur den leken ser ut? Vad har den vuxna för roll och hur kan man som vuxen påverka lekens utveckling? Genom att tolka de svar jag fick på de här frågorna har jag kunnat svara på min främsta frågeställning och kommit fram till att ”Ja”, vuxna har god syn på lek och dess värde. Alla har inte lika bra kunskap som några andra men alla i min undersökning har visat att de gör sitt bästa och vill barnens lek endast väl!
