Det är bevisat att alla individer lär sig på olika sätt. Vår mänskliga hjärna behöver olika typer av stimuli för att fungera så bra som möjligt. Alla människans sinnen måste få vara delaktiga i inlärningen för att resultatet ska bli optimalt. Det har därför kommit fram att det är viktigt att man i skolan individanpassar utbildningen efter varje elevs förmåga. Både när det gäller kunskapsinnehållet och metoderna. För att det ska bli möjligt är det viktigt att man ger eleven möjlighet att prova på olika uttrycksformer. På det viset kan eleven komma till insikt i hur den lär sig på bästa sätt. Detta förespråkas i den svenska läroplanen. För att alla elever ska må bra och utvecklas till kreativa vuxna måste undervisningen i skolan kännas meningsfull. Om skolan tar tillvara elevernas erfarenheter redan från början skapas en nyfikenhet och lust till att lära. Genom att använda sig av de estetiska ämnena, dans, drama/teater, rörelse, musik och bild kan man möta barnen på rätt nivå. De estetiska ämnena är även nödvändiga för att barnet ska utveckla färdigheter som stärker deras självkänsla och självtillit. De undersökningar som jag har gjort har visat att man i skolan känner till de estetiska ämnenas betydelse för barnet. De här ämnena prioriteras ändå inte eftersom man anser att det är viktigast att eleverna lär sig kärnämnena. Man skulle vilja använda sig mer av de estetiska ämnena men ser det inte som en möjlighet pga. tidsbrist, för dåliga lokaler och för få personal.

It is proved that every individual has a unique way of learning. Our human brain needs different types of stimuli to be able to act to its’ fullest capacity. To gain an optimum result every sense of the human body most be involved in the learningprocess. It has therefore come to one’s notice that it has great importance, for the school, to adjust the education individually considering every students different abilities. Both concerning contents of knowledge and methods. To make this come true it is important that the student is given the opportunity to try different means of expressions. In that way the student can become aware of in which way he or she learns easiest. This is something that is recommended in the Swedish curriculum. If all the students shall feel well and become creative adults it is important that the education at school feels meaningful to them. A curiosity and desire to learn will be created if the school takes advantage of the students experiences from the beginning. By using the aesthetic subjects; dance, drama/theatre, motion, music and art, the children can be approached on their own level. The aesthetic subjects are also neccesary in the development of skills that are usefull to strengthen the person’s self-esteem and self-reliance. The examination that I have done shows that the school’s aware of the aesthic subjects importance to the child. Even though, these subjects are not of priority in the education. It is belived that the most important subjects are the “main subjects”. They would like to make more use out of the aesthetic subjects but they dont’t consider it a possiblity because of lack of time, lack of space and too few staff.
