This composition is about emotional intelligence (EQ). The purpose of my work was to inquire if the pupils in three classes in an intermediate level at a school in south of Sweden had empathic ability in different school situations. The questions were only about school situations and the behaviour against classmates. It should be interesting to see if there were any differences between girls and boys and if there were any differences in apprehension after ages. I have built my composition on an inquiry. 59 pupils in class 4 to 6 have answered the questions. The result of my inquiry shows that most of the pupils in these classes have a good empathic ability. There is a difference between boys and girls. It does point at the fact in this inquiry that the boys have a larger tendency to say mean things to each other than the girls have. I have chosen to describe the result in staple diagram. Key words: behaviour, empathic, school situations
