Tal och social lek - förskollärares upplevelser av barn med talsvårigheter i social lek
2005 (Swedish)Independent thesis Basic level (professional degree)Student thesis
Abstract [en]

This is a study about how preschool teachers experience children with speech problems in social play. When I have worked on preschools during my education to be a teacher, I have noticed, there seemed to be a lot of children with speech problems. To play is very important for children and their development. The questions that came to me during my field-based learning were: Is speech problem a common problem? How do preschool teachers acknowledge children with speech problems? How do preschool teachers work with children with speech problems? The method I have used was interviews with four preschool teachers. The interviews showed that the teachers had different feelings about these children. Two of them acknowledged that there was a problem and two did not. The work with these children look very much the same at these preschools and also very much like literature I have studied. The study discussed that two of them saw problems and two did not see them. The experiences looked different on the two preschools. The conclusion on the study is: preschool teachers have different experiences of children with speech problems, and limited time has a bad effect on the work with children with speech problems.
